Last I wrote, I was in the midst of döstädning: clearing out papers from too many more years than I care to count. I am pleased to say that I completed Round 1 of I don’t know how many more rounds (read weeks, if not months) of this activity …and that’s OK with me. I’ve no artificial deadline imposed; just the knowledge that this is an activity that I’m determined to finish at some point in 2018.
As I clearned*, I found :
- notes and ideas scribbled on many sized pieces of papers or in notebooks, journals, pages printed from the Internet.
- a wide range of projects: some started; others in a someday-maybe file, some abandoned. A zibaldone of what once was at/in the moment important -not – stuff.
My brilliant idea to create a “library complete with card catalog” has yet to be realized…and I hasten to add, a few other ideas and possibilities have also emerged… But I persevere, take my time, try this on, then that, the other. The realization that life continues to happen is not lost on me; days grow longer – tho’, so far, not warmer (we’re told that is about to change in the next 24-48 hours) and ideas and inspiration are forever presenting themselves.
We three have just completed the Winter Journal Club season – a time/place on Friday afternoons for ten weeks that enables us to connect in an online space. During the interlude til Journal Club resumes, we have the Yearbook and each other to help us stay grounded and connected, to continue exploring and creating and clearning and döstädning not only the physical but also the inner recesses of our lives.
to be continued…
