There are people in this world, contemporaries, who have visited every continent and all the world’s countries (193/196?). I am not one of them – nor do I have plans or the desire to join that elite group. I did, however, do a quick tally of my travels over the years and determined I have visited:
- 27 states and live in Washington DC – technically not a state – which brings the total to 28. I have not been to Alaska but I have been to Hawaii;
- both Canada and Mexico;
- several islands in the Caribbean , more than once;
- 5 European countries: Austria, France, Germany, Italy and Switzerland; my favorite was Austria.
All in all, I’ve racked up a few miles over my lifetime. My memories of those visits is sketchy in some places and others, quite vivid. During the last nine years of my work life, (1998 – 2010), I worked with my two friends and blog soul mates: Kathy and Laura. And though we live miles -hundreds – apart (Kathy lives in Delaware and Laura, Florida), we have continued our relationship, managing an annual meetup most years.
Wherever we plan to meet, I hope to be there, as long as I have the wherewithall. Say, Alaska is on my bucket list…interested?
Cheers~
First, the page is just beautiful. Your layering just gets better and better. (Problem for me.) Second, Alaska is absolutely on my bucket list…along with that 2-week tour of the Utah national parks starting in Vancouver…and, oh yeah, via the Orient Express! Cool post. Now, I need to think.
Gorgeous layout! Ditto what K posted!
