On the second Monday of December, my quilting association has an annual potluck luncheon. Last year’s was snowed out but this year, tho’ grey, cloudy and greeted with an errant snowflake, we were able to meet, eat and make merry. Quilters bring their Christmas/holiday themed quilts for display and show & tell and our smaller groups (aka as cliques – you know how that goes) bring table decorations. The buffet tables were dressed not only with tantalizing foods – the appetizers were devoured – but also gorgeous poinsettias – which were given away as door prizes. Silly me, I didn’t put my name in the drawing (and yes, I needed another poinsettia!)
One of the things we do is donate new hats, mittens and scarves to homeless children. The table was bright and cheerful and some children will be all the warmer. Makes one’s heart warm too.
I thought it’d be fun to share a few seconds’ video of the decorations on my group’s table; unfortunately, can’t upload the video…so use your imagination: they sing and move…
Cheers~
