G is for…

Girls  Day Out

Today, I spent a lovely afternoon with friends, stitching – either knitting and/or hand appliquéing blocks for a quilt; sharing; helping each other make decisions about colors;  figuring out what we’re doing —-or did wrong; commiserating; enjoying.

My friend Pat’s hand appliqué…

We have been gathering now, once a month for over a year, starting with brunch – today we had parmesan baked chicken, zucchini to-die-for and wilted spinach with a zingy lemon butter sauce —topped off with a scrumptious slice of apple cake. Yum! Yum!

All too soon, the afternoon is over and we reluctantly pack up our bags – but not before we’ve set the date for our next Girls  Day Out.  August 25 can’t come too soon!

Hope you’ve had a great Sunday, too!
