Today, the summer solstice officially begins at 7:09 pm, EDT. Welcome …or maybe not. Already, as I pen this, the temperature is at 86 degrees here on the east coast and the day is just beginning. Eek! Is this what ‘s in store for the next three months til Autumn kicks in. Fingers crossed, I hope not. Tho’ as crazy as this weather has been this year – we’ve had a lovely, lovely, early and protracted spring, no winter – I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised if we didn’t get snow in early October. Just sayin’…
Anyway, with summer upon us, with avengeance, one’s thoughts can’t help turning to plans for summer fun…and especially, ways to stay cool. On my list:
1. make at least two one-day excursions to Ocean City…
2. play tourist and go to Smithsonian Mall & museums at least four times by Labor Day…
3. enjoy MSQT outside on the deck – weather permitting. sew; read; journal; eat breakfast; listen to the birds chirp; and watch the clouds make spilt milk…
4. try at least three new salad and soup recipes, each…
5. organize my creative space, especially my scrapbooking supplies
6. complete a few PiPs (projects in progress) scrapbook, knitting and quilting projects – how ’bout a dozen, for starters?
7. art journal and sew everyday…
8. plan a trip to Ohio & Chicago for late September…
9. or, perhaps take a ride on a carousel…
What are your plans for the summer? Whatever, do enjoy…and stay cool!
Cheers~
lovin’ your summer plans…count in me in for the carousel!
