About: Laura Allen
- I'm a Virtual Assistant and owner of Works of Wonder Virtual Assistance and my mission is to WOW my clients with excellence, creativity, and passion for doing work I love. My family is the center of my life—my husband of twenty-five years; our twenty-four year old daughter; my seventy-nine year old mom who recently moved in with us. I've learned that being a successful caretaker means practicing extreme self care. I thrive on journaling, writing fiction, blogging, reading, walking, and connecting with friends and family. My creative endeavors cover a wide spectrum: scrapbooking, card making, beading, clay pens, and photography. I was born in Toronto but grew up an island girl on Grand Bahama Island. I've lived in Ocala Florida for the past thirty years. I've had the privileged and honor to work with amazing and talented women in my career as a VA and that is how I met Honoré and Kathy. I loved working with these two dynamic women and learned so much from our partnerships. The three of us are no longer connected professionally but have grown our relationships over time into fast friendships that dissipate the miles between us. Who would I have dinner with if it could be anyone? I never met my mom's mother or my husband's mom—we'd have high English tea with Maryland crab-legs—now there's a visual! My favorite quote: "Once you make a decision, the Universe conspires to make it happen." ~ Emerson Since I work virtually I coined the word "vugs" which means virtual hugs! Vugs to you!
